What are your opinions (professional tattoo artist) on glow in the dark (phosphoresce) or (fluoresce) pigments, have you, or would you work with these pigments (inks)? Most if not all phosphorescent and pluorescent substances are toxic and carcinogenic. Do u think it is safe for your clients? or would you recommend against?

I personally don't even like using blacklight ink, let alone the thought of glow in the dark ink. hopefully it never gets the "ok" in the US

From the ressearch I`ve already done.
Glow in the dark=bad,reallybad
UV ink tattoos=well heres some good info

This way you can make up your own mind about.10+years of testing and no negative effects sounds good.

while it may have been deemed "safe", the other issue i have with UV ink is that it's kinda cheesy. To me, it seems like the "Black velvet Elvis" of tattooing.

my mentor actually re-did a floral piece on his left forearm about a year and a half ago with the "clear" UV ink. He said he did it for practice with the inks, but admit's that it wasn't the best decision on his part

My input, as always, on this topic, is:
Hey! Let's all get tattoos that will look like absolute shit except for the 5 minutes a year we spend in blacklight!! WaHooooo!

I don't ever really go under black light and I go clubbing/go to rock shows alot

10 years of testing is not very long - check out EPA standards, sometimes things like asbestos are latent in the system and they don't show up...30 years down the road you get cancer...with all the millions of toxins out there I would stay away from relatively unknowns (a lifetime of testing would probably be good enough for me since I am thinking about DDT and agent orange and other recent chemical catastrophes...)
